I used to twist wire nuts by hand until a job in Boise last winter

I was working on a big apartment complex and my hands were so cold I couldn't get a good connection, so I bought a $60 torque screwdriver with a wire nut attachment. Now I get perfect, consistent connections every single time and I'll never go back. Am I the only one who thinks hand-twisting is just asking for a call back?

Honestly hand-twisting feels more natural to me, you can feel a good connection.

Wait, is hand-twisting that thing where you link pinkies? Because I tried that once and nearly pulled my friend's arm off. Amy_adams13, you make it sound way more smooth than it ever goes for me. I always end up in some weird finger tangle that feels more like a secret handshake gone wrong. Do you have to practice to get that good connection feeling, or are some people just born with twisty hands?

Did you see that article about how hand-twisting is actually an old trust-building exercise? It said the smooth feeling comes from matching the other person's pressure and rhythm, not just grabbing fingers. Maybe we're all just trying too hard to force it.
