Fluke vs Klein on a hospital call back job last week

Had a weird intermittent fault on a lighting circuit at a hospital in Dayton. I was using my Klein CL900 and getting flaky readings that didn't add up. Borrowed the head facility guy's Fluke T6-1000 and found the problem in 5 minutes. The Klein was picking up ghost voltage from a parallel run, the Fluke blocked it out. Makes me wonder if I should drop the cash on a Fluke or if I'm just missing something with my Klein settings. Anyone else run into false readings on non-contact testers with older wiring?

I saw a post on another forum where a guy tested his Klein against a Fluke on the same circuit in an old factory. The Klein kept picking up stray voltage from cables in the same conduit, but the Fluke ignored it. He said the Fluke uses a different filtering method for non-contact readings. Might be worth trying the Fluke on a rental basis first to see if it fixes your ghost voltage issue before you spend the money.

Oh wow, that's actually a really interesting difference. I had no idea the filtering tech was that different between them. So does the Fluke use some kind of digital filtering or is it more about how the sensor is physically shielded? I'm wondering if the extra cost is really just for that feature or if there's something else going on too. I've been burned by ghost voltage before on old industrial stuff and it drove me crazy trying to figure out what was live and what wasn't lol.
