Can we talk about how we used to strip wire with our teeth?

Wait, people actually did that? I mean I've used my teeth to hold a wire while I grabbed my strippers but biting down to actually strip the insulation... that's a whole other level of crazy. I remember back in the day my dad would chew through lamp cord like it was nothing, told me "that's how real electricians do it" haha. But seriously, that sounds like a fast track to chipped teeth and dentist bills. I can't believe I never put together how bad that really is for your enamel...

Oh man, I gotta gently push back on something here. Using your teeth to hold a wire while you grab strippers is actually almost as bad as stripping it with your teeth. That's still putting a lot of pressure on your enamel and you're clamping down on copper which is way harder than insulation. Your teeth weren't made to grip anything that hard, and one slip or sudden move could chip a tooth just as easy. I've seen guys do the "hold it in your teeth" thing and then flinch when they get zapped, and that's a recipe for a cracked molar.
