Those cheap LED shop lights from Amazon? I was dead wrong about them.
Thought they'd flicker and die in a month for $30 each. Installed 8 in my basement workshop 6 months ago and they're still going strong. Anyone else switch from expensive name brand to cheap LEDs and get surprised?

Yo seriously same here right? I grabbed a 4 pack of these cheapo ones for my garage thinking I'd replace them in a few months but it's been over a year and they're still bright as hell with no flicker. Honestly I'm never dropping $50+ on a single light again after this.

@gonzalez.reese Not quite, those cheap ones have a fatal flaw, they usually use inferior caps.

Totally get what you're saying Reese, and @ross.kevin has a point about the caps but I think the quality gap in cheap stuff is way narrower than it used to be. I mean, look at any other random thing you buy now like bluetooth speakers or even budget hand tools. The Chinese factories got so much better in the last 5 years that the "cheap" option often lasts just as long as the expensive brand name for half the price. It's like car batteries too, the store brand ones from Walmart or AutoZone often outlast the fancy DieHard ones now. Maybe it's just me but I've started questioning whether paying double for the "good" stuff is even worth it anymore unless you're talking about something that has to be absolutely bulletproof. For a garage light that's just sitting there, I'd take your 4 pack over a single $50 light any day.
