Vent: Messed up a whole ceiling in a bathroom
I was hanging 5/8 firecode in a 10x12 bathroom remodel yesterday and the second sheet dropped right through my lift because I forgot to tighten the clamp. Ended up cracking the tile floor and the GC wasn't happy about the delay. Anyone else have a setup trick to keep a sheet from slipping off the lift?

Get yourself a couple drywall clamps with the ratcheting straps. They lock the sheet tight against the lift head so there's no chance it shifts when you're trying to position it. I started using them after a similar drop and have saved way more time than the clamps cost.

Just to be clear though, @the_fiona, those ratcheting straps hold tight even on slightly warped sheets? I've got a few that are bowed and I'm worried they'd slip or break the edge.

Oh man, did your sheets get warped from moisture or just kind of heavy on one side? My buddy tried the same thing with regular straps and his bowed sheet popped the lift head clean off, so I'd definitely pick up some clamps like @the_fiona said, they saved him from a nasty drop.
