The $12 corner trowel I almost threw away is now my favorite tool

Picked up one of those cheap blue handle corner trowels from the big box store in Dayton last month for a quick job. Thought it'd bend on the first use, but I've run it through three rooms of mud now and it's holding up fine. What sold me was how easy it was to keep clean compared to my stainless one - mud just pops off the plastic. Anyone else found a cheap tool that ended up being a regular on your belt?

Did you actually try cleaning it more than once? Because I grabbed the same trowel and gave up after the second room. The plastic handle started slipping in my hand once it got a little wet, and the blade flexed way more than my stainless one. I ended up tossing it in the junk drawer after I had to redo a corner three times. Different strokes I guess, but I'll stick with my old one.

Ugh yeah I totally feel you on that. I had the same problem with the handle getting slick, thought I was the only one. Did you try wiping it down with a dry rag between rooms or did you just give up like I did?
