Spent 20 bucks on a drywall lift attachment for my stilts and it actually saved my back

I figured it was just another gimmick like those magnetic trowels but after one day mudding a 14-foot ceiling in a church gym I broke down and tried the attachment my supplier was pushing for months and now I honestly don't think I can go back, anyone else find a small gadget that changed their whole routine?

That bit about "broke down and tried it" is exactly what my buddy Joe did last year. He was hanging 16-foot sheets in a rec center and his helper didn't show. The lift attachment was just sitting in his truck from a vendor demo. He threw it on out of pure desperation around 10 AM and by lunch he was blowing up our group chat saying it was the best 40 bucks he ever wasted. He still uses it every time now, calls it his "back insurance.

That's the thing with a lot of tools we think we don't need... you don't realize how much you've been making things harder until you try the easier way. Joe's story is pretty common with older tradesmen who've been doing it the hard way for years out of habit. It's like when my dad finally switched from a paper map to a GPS, he was mad at himself for waiting so long. Something about having that "back insurance" makes you wonder what else we're just suffering through for no good reason.
