Serious question, has anyone else had a week where every single sheet of 5/8 firecode seemed to have a bad edge?

Last month in Denver, I spent three full days fighting rippled seams on a commercial job because the factory edges were so inconsistent we had to cut a fresh one on almost every sheet, which made me wonder if anyone else has seen a drop in board quality from certain plants lately.

Firecode is always a pain but that sounds like a bad batch from the plant. We had a similar issue with some 1/2 inch last year, the edges were almost wavy. It's gotten to the point where we check the lot numbers now before we even unload the truck. Quality control seems to be slipping at a few places.

But what if the problem is our install methods and not the product?

Three of my last four deliveries had at least one warped piece in every bundle, so I don't think it's just how we're putting them in. @wyatt_green31 is probably right about checking lot numbers early, that's a good habit I need to start. But honestly if the product comes out of the plant looking like a roller coaster, no install method in the world is gonna fix that. Might as well try to hammer a square peg into a round hole and call it close enough.
