Mud mixing changed my whole setup after 12 years
Used to mix my all-purpose mud with a hand drill and paddle. Took forever. Arms would be dead after 3 buckets. Switched to a barrel mixer from Harbor Freight last month. It was $60. Cuts mixing time by half and no more lumps. Anyone else switch from hand mixing to a dedicated mixer?

Wait, don't those barrel mixers take way longer to clean out than a bucket and paddle?

Yeah, the hand drill and paddle thing is brutal after a couple buckets, your wrists really take a beating. I grabbed one of those cheap barrel mixers off Amazon and honestly it was the best sixty bucks I ever spent on drywall tools. Makes way less mess too since you can just leave everything in the barrel and wipe it down when you're done.
