Mud mix consistency changed on me after I switched brands
I've been using the same mud for years then grabbed a different brand at Menards outside Detroit. The stuff stayed wet way longer and I messed up a whole wall trying to sand too early. Anyone else run into weird drying times with a new batch?

Man that happened to me too, grabbed a generic store brand and it took forever to dry. Had to scrape half a hallways worth off because I thought it was ready.

Oh I've been there too, grabbed some no-name brand from a liquidation store because it was half the price and figured "how bad could it be?" Ended up painting like... a four foot section of my living room before I realized it was still tacky after twelve hours. Had to scrape it off with a putty knife while my wife just stood there shaking her head at me. Made the whole room smell like some weird chemical banana scent too, like someone melted a Laffy Taffy and mixed it with paint thinner. So yeah, I feel your pain on that hallway situation, sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Oh yeah, grabbed a random Ace Hardware brand and it stayed wet for two days straight.
