I finally learned why mudding corners keeps cracking
Ran into an old pro at the supply house who told me I was laying the tape too dry... said to wet the corner bead first. Has anyone else had their corners fail because the paper wasn’t soaked enough?

That bit about wetting the corner bead first is what finally fixed my own cracking problem. I tried it on the next job and the mud soaked into the paper way better instead of just sitting on top and peeling off later. It's a small step but it makes all the difference in those inside corners.

Oh man actually you're supposed to wet the tape not the bead itself, not the metal part.
