That clay clog I thought I'd clear in 20 minutes took me 8 hours straight
I hit a thick clay layer near Baton Rouge last Tuesday and figured a quick flush would handle it, but that stuff packed the cutterhead so tight I had to haul the whole rig out and chip it by hand. Ended up losing a full shift and still had to replace a worn seal from the extra stress. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into an all-day nightmare like that?

That clay near Baton Rouge sticking "worse than wet concrete on a trowel" sounds about right. I swear that stuff has a personal vendetta against anyone trying to get work done in a reasonable time. Next time I'll just budget a full day and maybe a case of beer for the hand chipping marathon.

Heard a buddy from Lafayette say clay down there sticks worse than wet concrete on a trowel.
