Rant: A crane operator in Mobile told me something about silt that I can't forget
He said, 'You're not moving dirt, you're moving water with dirt in it,' after watching me fight a clogged pump for an hour. Has anyone else had a simple tip completely shift how you run your machine?

That "moving water with dirt in it" line hits hard. I was always trying to force slurry through a hose like it was just thick mud. After a guy told me something similar, I started paying way more attention to the water mix. Now I add a little more water upfront than I used to, and it flows so much easier. I stopped fighting the pump all the time. It seems obvious now, but it totally changed how I run my machine.

Read a whole article on slurry viscosity after hearing that.

That "moving water with dirt in it" line explains why I keep clogging my own driveway.
