Learned a wild fact about hydraulic oil temperature from a manual I skipped

Was flipping through the service manual for my 2018 Ellicott last night and found out running the hydraulic oil above 180 degrees for more than 10 minutes can cut pump life in half. I never paid attention to the temp gauge unless it got crazy hot. Has anyone else run into issues from ignoring the temp specs on their barge?

Putting a temp alarm on mine was a game changer. Keeps me from cooking the pumps without having to stare at the gauge all day.

Just means one more alarm to ignore.
