Home silt job gone wrong and I'm soaked

I decided to tackle the silt buildup in my backyard creek over the weekend, thinking it would be simple. Boy, was I wrong. The muck is like glue, and my little pump keeps clogging every five minutes. It's just like that time on the river job where the suction head kept getting blocked by debris. I'm out here with a shovel and a hose, feeling like an amateur. My boots are full of water, and I've been at it for hours with little progress. Why do I always underestimate how tough this stuff is? At least on a real dredge, you have the power to push through. This home version is pure frustration.

That "muck like glue" description hits way too close to home.

Tell me more about when you've dealt with muck like glue. What made it stick so much? Was there a time it just wouldn't come off? I want to hear the full story.

Oh man, the worst is when it's that perfect storm of wet clay and old leaves. It packs into treads and wheel wells like concrete. I've spent hours with a pressure washer and a putty knife on my own truck, and some patches just refuse to let go. It's like the earth itself decided to claim a piece of your vehicle back.
