Appreciation post: The difference a single new cutter head made on our 12-inch dredge after 800 hours of work
We swapped out the worn head for a new one from Thompson Marine last Tuesday and the suction jump from 14 to 22 inches of mercury in the same material was like getting a whole new machine, so what's the most dramatic single-part replacement you've seen on a rig?

Remember swapping a totally shot hydraulic pump on an old excavator. The swing was so lazy it felt like moving through mud. Put in a new unit and the thing nearly spun itself off the tracks. It went from being the site joke to the first machine you'd grab.
