Used to draw everything by hand on vellum back in 2004. Now I'm all digital with AutoCAD. Miss the smell of ammonia from the blueprint machine honestly.

Did you see that article about how some firms are bringing back hand drafting for certain projects?

A friend of mine at a mid-size firm told me they switched back to hand drafting for early design concepts because the older partners kept saying digital sketches felt too 'finished.' @the_margaret, she said the hand drawings actually got better feedback from clients.

Yeah totally, I actually worked at a place that did the same thing. We switched back to hand drafting for all our schematic designs after realizing the digital stuff was making clients rush to approve things too fast. The hand sketches forced everyone to slow down and talk through the ideas more. It was wild how much better the feedback sessions got once we stopped showing polished computer drawings.
