Just realized the new city hall blueprints on display downtown have a major dimensioning error on the second floor plan.

I was walking through the civic center lobby yesterday and they have the architectural drawings for the renovation up on a big board. Stood there for like ten minutes and the scale on the main corridor is off by a full foot. The notes say it's 8 feet wide but the drawn dimensions add up to 9. Someone's gonna have a bad day when they try to install those built-ins. Has anyone else caught a public mistake like that? Makes you double-check everything.

Caught a typo on a park dedication plaque last month that swapped two historical dates. It's wild how these things slip through. Makes me side-eye every official sign now.

Yeah, that's the worst, @butler.abby. I saw a city welcome sign once that spelled the mayor's name wrong. Like, permanently cast in metal. I started taking pictures of errors I found and sent a batch to the town clerk's office every few months. They actually fixed a few, like a historical marker with the wrong battle year. Felt good to get it on record.

My buddy who's a contractor was laughing about a public library addition last year. The bid packet had the wrong concrete specs for the foundation, like a whole different psi strength. He caught it because he had to price it out, but he said if some rookie firm had won it and just ordered based on the plans, that whole corner would've cracked in a year. Makes you wonder how many of these errors just get built because nobody looks close enough.
