Took me 6 hours to fix a leaky shower valve I thought would take 30 minutes

Had to replace a cartridge in a Moen faucet and the old one was completely seized. Used a puller tool from Home Depot for $15 and still had to soak it in vinegar for 2 hours. Anyone else run into a cartridge that just wouldnt budge?

Man, I feel your pain. I fought a shower cartridge for three hours once and ended up using a torch to heat the valve body just to break it loose. Your mileage may vary, but that soaking trick with vinegar is solid. It's always the ones you think will be quick that turn into a whole day project.

Stripped the whole damn thing trying to get it out with channel locks. Ended up drilling into the cartridge and using an easy out bit. Took forever but that thing finally came out in pieces. Hope you got yours sorted without having to go that route.
