That cheap caulk gun from the dollar store nearly cost me a full bathroom remodel

I was redoing my master bath last month and figured I'd save a few bucks on a $3 caulk gun. Big mistake. The plunger slipped halfway through the shower trim and I ended up with silicone all over the tile and my jeans. Took me 2 hours with mineral spirits to clean it up. Finally borrowed my neighbor's $20 Ratchet Pro model and it was night and day. Has anyone else had a cheap tool backfire like that?

That cheap caulk gun" is exactly why I tell my guys to never buy any tool with a plastic plunger rod.
