Spent 6 hours patching drywall because I skipped one step
I was fixing a hole in my living room wall about the size of a baseball. Figured I'd just slap some joint compound on it and sand it smooth, no big deal. Three coats later and it still looked like a crater, so I finally watched a YouTube video and realized I needed to use a mesh patch first. Took me about 6 hours total when it should have been a 45 minute job. Anyone else ever waste a whole afternoon on something that simple?

My buddy Tom spent a whole Sunday trying to fix a leaky faucet... turns out he had the whole thing apart and couldn't get it back together for hours. He said he almost just called a plumber out of pure frustration.

Tom's mistake was thinking he could wing it without watching a video first. Spend five minutes on YouTube and you'd know exactly which parts to pull apart and in what order. Plumbing is just adult LEGOs with water pressure. He probably didn't even take a picture before he started.
