Rant: My backsplash took forever to set and I'm happy it did
Honestly, people always push fast-dry grout to hurry up tile work. Tbh, I used it on a bathroom wall and it chipped in weeks. For my kitchen, I picked standard grout and allowed three days for curing. Ngl, waiting sucked with the room out of use. But now, my tiles are still stuck tight after many months. A friend's rushed job has gaps and water damage. Taking extra time really pays off in the end.

Used to swear by the fast stuff to keep jobs moving quick. Watched a patio I did start crumbling after one winter because the base mix set too fast. Now I tell clients that good curing time isn't a delay, it's part of the build.

Yeah, that's so true. I rushed a small concrete pour once to hit a deadline (big mistake) and the surface looked fine at first. By the next summer, it was a map of hairline cracks. Now I build the proper cure time right into the schedule from day one, and explain it to the client as a non-negotiable step. It saves so many headaches later, even if it means waiting an extra day or two.

People skip basics everywhere to save a minute.
