PSA: My $500 paint sprayer was a total waste for my garage project
Everyone says they're a game changer, but the cleanup took longer than rolling the walls... and I still got a better finish with a brush on the trim. Anyone have a small project where a sprayer actually made sense?

Your "weirdly specific jobs" point nails it, they're only good for stuff like cabinets.

Sprayers seem to only pay off for weirdly specific jobs. My neighbor used his to stain a giant fence, and even that was a debate with his wife. The hassle factor is almost never worth it for indoor stuff.

It really depends on the project and the sprayer type! A good sprayer is amazing for cabinets or doors where you need a super smooth finish on a lot of flat surfaces. The cleanup is a pain, but it's faster than brushing multiple coats on detailed trim. For just a basic garage wall, a roller is definitely the simpler choice.
