My neighbor in Phoenix said he built a whole shed with just a cordless drill and a hand saw.
It made me wonder if I've been overcomplicating my own patio cover project by insisting I need a miter saw. Has anyone else done a decent-sized build with just basic hand tools?

That sounds like a painful way to save a few bucks.

Lol tell that to the three old oil filters I have sitting in my garage like trophies from my own failed attempts. My driveway looked like a crime scene last time I tried, and I'm pretty sure the "savings" went straight into buying kitty litter to soak it all up. Some of us are just meant to pay the nice person at the shop to do it without the existential crisis.

My brother saved over $500 last year doing his own oil changes. It's really not that hard once you watch a few tutorials. The upfront cost for tools pays off fast.
