My fancy $600 tile saw barely paid for itself
Bought a big wet tile saw from the hardware store thinking I'd use it for like 5 bathroom projects. Two years later I've only fired it up twice and the blade is probably rusted by now. Should have just rented one for $40 a day or hired a pro for that small backsplash in my kitchen. Anyone else buy a tool thinking you'd get way more use out of it than you actually did?

We all buy the person we want to be, not the tools we actually need.

Ngl I did the exact same thing with a floor nailer. Dropped like $300 on it for one project and it's been sitting in the garage ever since. Would've been way cheaper to just borrow one from a buddy.

Grabbed a $500 table saw one time thinking I'd build cabinets all over the house. That saw has been a glorified shelf for three years now. Honestly it's embarrassing how much I spent on something that just collects dust. Could have rented it for a weekend and been way better off. Ngl this hits close to home.
