My $8 foam roller from Target saved my floor project

I was putting in laminate flooring in my Denver basement and my knees were killing me after 2 hours, so my buddy handed me this cheap foam roller to kneel on. I laughed at him because it looked dumb, but I tried it and I didn't even feel the concrete subfloor for the next 4 hours straight. Anyone else have a random cheap tool that totally saved a DIY project?

That "it looked dumb" part is spot on - I used the same roller under my knees for tile work and felt stupid until hour 3 when I wasn't hurting at all. Pro tip: grab two of them so you can shuffle along without standing up.

Pretty sure I looked like a confused turtle the first time I tried it (you know, wobbling side to side). But man, after two hours of grout work my knees were thanking me, and I didn't even care how ridiculous I looked. Grabbing a second roller is genius though - I'm definitely stealing that idea for my next bathroom project.
