Finally fixed that crooked shelf in my hallway after a year of looking at it
I had this cheap IKEA shelf in my entryway that was always tilted to the left no matter how many times I adjusted it. Last weekend my buddy came over and pointed out I was using the wrong anchors for drywall. He showed me how to use snap toggles instead of those little plastic ones and it took maybe 20 minutes total. The shelf is now rock solid and perfectly level. I even hung up a few coats on it to test it out and nothing budged. Feels good to finally have that done. Has anyone else dealt with stuff like this where the fix was way simpler than you thought?

Oh man, I feel this so hard (and I bet my shelf felt it even harder before I fixed it). For the longest time I had this bookcase in my living room that I propped up with a folded up coaster under one leg, you know, like a real professional. Turns out the floor was just slightly uneven and all I had to do was twist those little plastic feet on the bottom, it was actually embarrassing how easy it was once my neighbor pointed it out to me. I spent like six months thinking it was a design flaw when it was just me being too stubborn to look under there. Now every time I walk past it I feel like a god of home improvement or something.

Nah I gotta disagree with you here. The coaster was a smart fix if it worked for six months, that's not being stubborn that's being practical. Not everyone has adjustable feet on their shelves and sometimes a folded coaster is the best tool for the job.
