Can we talk about painting trim without tape?
I know everyone says you gotta tape off trim before painting, but I tried freehanding it with a good angled brush last weekend on my living room baseboards. It took me about 2 hours less than taping and the lines came out just as clean. Has anyone else ditched the tape?

Wait, did you really save 2 hours? I think my taping process only adds about 30 minutes max, so freehanding might not be the time saver you're thinking it is. But if your lines came out clean, then hey, you do you - just be careful if you've got textured walls or wonky corners like I do in my old house.

Oh yeah, Vera's probably got a good system down, whereas my "taping process" involves half a roll of tape stuck to my cat before I even get near a wall. Two hours is generous, honestly, I think I overestimated by an hour just to make myself feel better about buying all those expensive "no-bleed" brushes. But freehanding on textured walls? That sounds like a one-way ticket to a paint-dipped face if you sneeze wrong. I'll take my chances with the tape and a prayer for straight lines.
