Back when I picked linoleum over tile in the kitchen...

About 12 years ago I was redoing my kitchen in Columbus and had to choose between cheap linoleum sheets and actual ceramic tile. I went with the linoleum to save $400, and honestly it held up fine for about 7 years before it started peeling near the dishwasher. Tile would've been more work upfront but I wonder if it would've saved me the hassle of replacing it last spring... has anyone else gambled on a cheaper flooring option and regretted it later?

My buddy had this happen and it was an absolute nightmare. He came home from work and found a small lake in his kitchen, you know the kind where your socks get instantly soaked. Turned out the hose clamp on the supply line was just a little loose, but it had been dripping behind the dishwasher for days before the floor started bubbling up. Cost him like $400 to fix the subfloor and get a new dishwasher, all because he didn't tighten one little clamp.
