Spent $150 on a fancy drip irrigation kit and it was a total bust

I was so excited to set up this drip irrigation system from Home Depot for my vegetable garden. Spent a whole Saturday running the tubing and putting in all those little emitters. First time I turned it on, half the connections popped off and water was spraying everywhere. Ended up ripping it all out and going back to my old soaker hoses I got at the dollar store. Has anyone else had trouble with those click-together drip systems?

Spent $150 on that and the dollar store hose beat it? That's rough.

That $150 nozzle really should have lasted longer. Did you actually compare the water pressure side by side, or are you just going off how the spray felt? I've had dollar store hoses kink up on me so bad after two uses that they were useless, so I'm curious if the cheap one held up over a few weeks or just looked good on day one.
