Used to glue down every bit of underlayment until a flooring guy set me straight

I was putting glue on every single seam for a laminate floor job last year and it took forever. A buddy who does floors for a living told me to just glue the tongue and groove on the short ends and let the long sides snap together. Has anyone else found a quicker way to lay floating floors that still holds up?

Last year I spent six hours gluing down a single room before I realized I was basically making a giant popsicle stick art project. My knees still ache thinking about it, and the floor has held up just fine with glue only on the short ends. So your buddy's advice is solid, and you'll save yourself a weekend of regrettable decisions.

Oh man, did you ever read that one article floating around from a flooring company that said glue on the short ends is actually the recommended method for floating floors? I saw it on a home improvement site and it totally made me rethink everything. Your giant popsicle stick comparison is hilarious but so accurate, I can just picture it! It's crazy how people think you have to glue every single inch, but really the flex is what keeps it from buckling anyway. Glad your floor survived and that six hour mistake taught us all a lesson, haha.
