Unpopular opinion: I still use a manual auger for drainage instead of renting a powered trencher
Last spring in Dayton, my rented trencher hit a buried gas line I didn't mark, so I spent two days digging out a 60-foot trench by hand with a manual auger and a shovel. No gas leaks, no repair bills, and I finished the job cheaper than renting again. Anyone else think power tools are overrated for small jobs like this?

Oh come ON, a manual auger for 60 feet of trench? That sounds like a total MASSIVE waste of time and back pain when a powered trencher would do it in 20 minutes flat. Power tools exist for a REASON and your one bad rental experience doesn't make them overrated for everyone else.
