Threw $150 down the drain on a cheap pressure washer from the flea market

I saw this electric pressure washer at a flea market in Denver for $50 and thought I was getting a steal... guy said it just needed a new hose. Got it home, ordered a $25 hose online, and it worked for about 10 minutes before the motor started smoking. Took it apart and found the piston seals were completely shot, probably from sitting in a damp shed for years. I spent another $75 on replacement parts trying to fix it before my buddy pointed out you can get a decent entry level unit at Home Depot for $120. Has anyone else gotten burned fixing something that was never worth fixing in the first place?

Ugh yeah I've been there man. My rule now is if the fix costs more than half what the thing is worth new, just cut your losses and start fresh.

Hell yeah, I actually love projects like that though.
