That week I tried to fix a leaky faucet and ended up flooding the kitchen

Last Tuesday I thought I could save 150 bucks by replacing a cartridge in my bathroom sink. Turns out I forgot to shut off the main water valve and spent 3 hours mopping up water from the kitchen below. Has anyone else had a simple repair turn into a disaster?

Oof. That's a classic oops right there.

Did you at least remember to turn the water back on before you left? Because that's the real pro move, flooding the place and then coming back to a dry house. I swear, I've done that dance more times than I care to admit. The worst is when you're so proud of how fast you fixed it, only to realize the valve was just barely cracked the whole time. Classic.

bro you forgot to shut off the main? that's rough but honestly i've done the same thing with a toilet fill valve. thought i could just swap it out quick and ended up with water running for 10 minutes before i found the shutoff. the key is always triple check the valve is actually off before you touch anything.
