Pro tip: saw a cool trick for old door hinges at a hardware store in Tacoma

They had a display showing how a dab of petroleum jelly on the hinge pin stops squeaks way better than most sprays. I tried it on my back door and it's been quiet for a month now. Anyone know other uses for that stuff around the house?

Feel you @robinp72, I was skeptical too but the jelly trick actually works great on sticky drawers.

Honestly robinp72, it's less fuss than buying a spray can. You just smear a tiny bit on the pin and wipe the excess. I keep a little jar in my junk drawer for sticky zippers and window tracks too.

Seems like a lot of fuss just to fix a squeaky door.
