Painters tape is NOT a sealant for window trim
Watched my neighbor spend a whole weekend caulking over painters tape on his new window install in Phoenix. You gotta peel that tape off before the caulk dries or you end up with a peeling mess that looks like garbage six months later. Has anyone else dealt with this disaster?

Watched half the caulk come with it" that is so painful to even imagine.

Used to think leaving the tape on would help seal things better. Then tried peeling it off after caulking on a garage window and watched half the caulk come with it. Now I pull it off while the caulk is still wet and never had peeling problems since.
