My deck stain test between solid and semi-transparent was a clear winner
I tested two different stain types on my back deck in Austin last month. The solid stain from Behr looked great at first but started peeling after 3 weeks. The semi-transparent Olympic stain is holding up way better and hides the wood grain without looking like plastic. Has anyone else had better luck with one type over the other on pressure treated pine?

Three weeks? Man that's rough. I did my deck in Atlanta last spring with the solid Behr and had the exact same thing happen. Started bubbling up around the nail heads by week two. I'm on year two now with a semi-transparent from Sherwin Williams and it's still looking decent even through the Georgia heat and humidity. The semi definitely lets the wood breathe better I think.

Bubbling up around the nail heads by week two"? That's wild, I would've lost my mind.
