Just fixed a wobbly toilet in 20 minutes with a simple trick
Kept seeing people talk about leveling compound when really all they needed was to tighten the flange bolts and shim the base. Anyone else notice how many folks overcomplicate basic toilet repairs?

Last customer I helped used drywall compound instead... what a mess that was.

Well for goodness sake, don't use drywall compound. I read an article once where a guy leveled his entire bathroom floor with joint compound. Had to tear the whole thing out a year later when it crumbled. Leveling compound is made specifically for that job. It's harder and won't shrink or crack under a heavy toilet. Drywall mud is soft stuff, it's not meant to hold up under constant weight and moisture.
