Just realized loading spoons handle-down ruined my silverware finish
I switched to handle-up for 3 months and the scratching on my spoons is completely gone, no more cloudy spots near the bowl. Anyone else notice a difference with their utensil direction after a long stretch?

Handle down definitely scratches them faster from the drawer sliding.

Tape a thin strip of felt to the bottom of your silverware drawer divider to stop the sliding.

Huh, I dunno about that. I keep all mine handle down and they've been fine for years. Maybe if you're shoving them in a jam-packed drawer with a bunch of metal stuff flying around, but for normal sliding? I feel like that's a pretty small worry. Plus, the edge of the handle would hit first anyway, not the actual blade. I think people overthink this stuff way too much.
