That whole 'AI art is cheating' take I used to believe
Back in 2022 I was pretty vocal that any digital art made with AI was just pushing buttons. Then a buddy of mine showed me his workflow process for a fantasy landscape. He spent 12 hours on one image, using an initial AI generate as a base then painting over every single element by hand in Procreate. The original AI output was just a rough color sketch compared to the final piece. It changed how I see the tool entirely. Anyone else change their mind on this after seeing someone's actual process?

Did you also feel like a total hypocrite when you realized those "button pushers" were actually doing more work than your usual doodle session? I sure did when I tried to recreate that workflow and ended up with a mess that looked like a melted crayon drawing.

Right there with you. My first attempt looked like a cat sneezed on the screen.
