That week my art tablet stopped working mid-commission
Last month I had a Tuesday where everything was going fine, then my Wacom pen just stopped talking to the tablet. I had a client expecting a finished piece by Friday, so I freaked out. Spent two days reinstalling drivers and digging through forum threads before realizing the cable was frayed at the connection point. A $15 cable replacement fixed it, but I lost 48 hours of work and had to pull an all-nighter to get the art done on time. Has anyone else had a hardware failure mess up your whole schedule like that?

Oh man, I feel that. The frayed cable thing is brutal because it looks fine on the outside most of the time. I had a similar issue with my monitor cable once, took me three days and a new graphics card before I just swapped the cord and it worked immediately. Felt like such an idiot.

Dude, the frayed cable thing is the WORST. I spent two days reinstalling drivers and even sacrificed a pen to the tech gods before realizing it was just a $15 cord. Felt like a genius.

Hold on, is losing two days of work really that catastrophic? Most clients understand technical issues if you just communicate with them upfront. A small delay on a commission isn't the end of the world, especially when the fix is so cheap.
