Spent three days trying to get my line art to look right on a new tablet
I got a new drawing tablet last month (a Huion Kamvas 13, if you're curious) and I was so excited to use it. But when I tried to do my usual clean line art in Clip Studio Paint, everything felt off. The lines were wobbly and didn't connect where I wanted them to. I messed with the stabilization settings for hours, thinking that was the fix. Turns out, the real problem was the screen protector it came with. It had this weird texture that made my pen drag and skip. I finally took it off after two full days of fussing and my lines went back to normal instantly. Has anyone else had a tablet's default screen protector totally mess with their drawing feel? What did you replace it with?

Is it really that serious though? Three days messing with settings over a screen protector? I've been using a standard matte protector on my Intuos for years, never had any wobble issues I couldn't fix with a simple driver update. People act like a little drag in the pen is the end of the world when it's just part of the learning curve. You probably just needed to adjust your hand pressure, not rip off the protector. Now youve got a naked screen that's gonna get scratched up the first time you drop it. Seems like overkill to me.

That factory screen protector is basically a scratch guard, not made for drawing. The texture kills pen nibs too, you'll wear them down twice as fast. I went with a basic matte protector from a third party brand, the difference in glide was night and day. Some people even skip it entirely and just accept the glossy screen feel.
