Spent 6 hours trying to get a consistent brush stroke in Procreate

I was working on a portrait commission last week and my apple pencil kept skipping on certain strokes in the same spot. I thought it was a dirty screen so I cleaned it like 3 times. Then I figured out it was because I had the streamline setting cranked way too high on one specific brush. Finally fixed it after watching a 2 minute youtube video that showed me exactly what I was doing wrong. Has anyone else had a dumb setting trip them up for way longer than it should have?

Read somewhere that screen protectors with a paper texture can mess with pencil sensitivity too.

62 grit Paperlike actually improved mine, weirdly enough.
