Pro tip: Artstation layouts are killing creativity, not helping it

Last week I saw 30 portfolio pieces in a row that all used the exact same dark grey background and floating character pose. Has anyone else noticed these templates make every artist look the same?

30 identical floating poses last week really opened my eyes to how bad this template problem is.

Oh man, that floating pose thing is everywhere. Caught myself scrolling through a hundred portfolios on Artstation last month and half of them looked like they were just copy-pasting the same reference sheet. The dark grey background is the new default, right? Its like nobody wants to risk standing out with a colored backdrop or a different angle. The templates make it so easy to just plug in your character and call it done, but it swallows up any personality in the work. Feels like the whole site is turning into a giant moodboard for the same three poses.
