My tablet pen stopped working right in the middle of a big commission last Tuesday.

I had to finish the last three hours of line work using my backup mouse, which felt like drawing with a brick, but the client still said it looked great.

Man, that's brutal. I used to think having a backup plan for tech was overkill until my main monitor died during a deadline. Now I keep a spare pen charged at all times. Finishing with a mouse is a special kind of hell, major props for pushing through. The client being happy is the real win though.

Lol @the_andrew, is finishing with a mouse really that big of a deal?

Man, that mouse struggle is so real. I had a pen die on a tight deadline once and my old Wacom driver just gave up. Ended up doing the final shading on my laptop trackpad, which was like trying to paint with a single grain of rice. Felt like my hand was going to fall off, but the piece somehow turned out okay. What kind of tablet were you using when it quit?
