Met a digital painter at the coffee shop who changed my brush settings

Last Tuesday at that little cafe on 3rd Street, an older guy saw me struggling with a portrait on my tablet and asked if he could show me something. He spent about ten minutes walking me through how he sets his brush opacity and flow to get a smooth skin texture without any blending tools. Have any of you had a chance encounter like that where a stranger's tip totally shifted your workflow?

Honestly, I think relying on strangers' half-baked tips just messes up muscle memory and slows you down.

I gotta disagree with you a little here @blake322. About the muscle memory thing for sure. I've actually had way more luck picking up little tricks from random posts than I ever did from those overproduced YouTube tutorials. Like just last week some guy mentioned keeping your pinky slightly off the fretboard for cleaner bends and honestly my playing improved like 40% overnight lol.
