I used to hate time-lapse videos of art being made

Thought they were just flashy and took away from the finished piece. Then a friend showed me one where you could see all the little choices and mistakes fixed along the way. It totally changed how I look at the process, not just the result. Now I find them weirdly relaxing to watch, like seeing a puzzle get solved.

Figured those videos were just for show, like they skipped all the hard parts. Then you see one where the artist messes up and has to fix it, and it's almost comforting. Turns out watching someone else struggle with a drawing is way more interesting than a perfect slide show. Now I put them on when I need to stop overthinking my own work. It's like free therapy, but with less talking and more undo commands. Still can't believe I find watching paint dry exciting, even if it's sped up.

Honestly, it's not paint drying, but seeing the undo clicks is weirdly satisfying.

Totally get that. Sometimes I'll put on a long process video just for the sound of the undo brush. It's the digital version of hearing someone erase a sketchbook page. Makes my own mistakes feel less like a big deal, you know? Like seeing the artist flip a color five times before it looks right. It takes the pressure off.
