Bought a Huion tablet last month and it changed how I layer my characters.

At a local meetup in Austin a guy showed me his brush settings on that tablet and I spent the whole night reworking my shadows, has anyone else had a gear swap totally shift their style?

Is a new tablet really that life changing though? I've switched between Wacom and Huion a few times and my art stayed basically the same because it's still just me drawing. Getting a different brush set for free online would have the same effect without spending hundreds of dollars.

I picked up a used Cintiq from a buddy who was moving out of state and it completely threw off my whole coloring workflow for like two months. Turns out having a screen right where your pen hits makes you realize you've been guessing at blending the whole time. The first week I honestly felt like I forgot how to draw because my brain kept expecting the old laggy response. Now I can't even look at my old pieces without seeing all the muddy spots I used to leave behind.
