Why did I waste 10 years using a pry bar on frozen harmonic balancers?
Back in 2011 at my old shop in Boise I would beat on a balancer puller for an hour and still end up fighting the crank bolt threads. Last month I finally tried the heat trick with a propane torch and an impact gun on a 6.7 Powerstroke, got it off in 12 minutes flat. Anyone else stubborn about switching methods that old timers swear by, or am I the last guy holding a cheater bar?
