Switched my injector pull method after a shop foreman chewed me out

I used to just yank injectors out with a slide hammer on Duramax L5Ps... got yelled at last Tuesday by a guy with 30 years in. He told me to heat the bore first with a torch and use a puller that pushes on the sleeve, not the injector body. Now I spend an extra 10 minutes preheating and haven't snapped a single one. Anybody else run into injectors that are seized tight and found a trick that works better?

Are you really snapping L5P injectors that often or is the old guy just being dramatic about it? I've pulled a ton of these dry and never had an issue.

Yeah that sounds about right. I used to fight with seized injectors on a Ford 6.0 and doing a quick heat cycle on the bore made all the difference. Never snapped one after I started doing that.
